Slower-paced Session on Mondays gets the thumbs up

After the trial period, everyone felt it worthwhile to keep it up

We have introduced a split between the 2 sides of the hall on Mondays, with our normal game on one side and a deliberately slower-paced game on the other.

Both use the same non-contact, play-for-fun rules, but the slower-paced group enables new joiners to start their walking football journey and build their confidence amongst players who allow a little more space to pick a pass.

It is also noticeable that those of us who are less mobile are able to participate more in games,  getting much more time on the ball.

The session also enables players returning from injury (or after weeks spent lying on a beach) to ease back into the game.

All-in-all, it has proved to be a real success - come and try it out.

Women-only Walking Football is up and "running"

At Five Rivers, 5pm to 6pm on Thursdays

The women-only session is flourishing, but we are always keen to welcome new players - of any age and skill level.

Playing non-contact football, the emphasis is on having fun.

Even if you have never played before, we are sure you will enjoy the sessions, where we will introduce you to the rules, run a warm-up, practice basic skills, then pick sides for some games.

Come and join in the fun

All you need are trainers and comfortable clothes to play in - and a drink to keep you hydrated.

You could also bring a friend, of course!
